UAE launches National Ambulance Service with Altair CAD
The Altair CAD and FMS System has been successfully implemented at the Abu Dhabi based National Ambulance in February. The setup enables the National Ambulance to streamline its operational process and automate the incident lifecycle from call taking and driver dispatching to mission follow up and performance management.
Robert Ball, CEO of National Ambulance, said “We gave Softec International an aggressive time frame in which to implement the Altair system. They were able to meet this timeframe and continued to work closely with our team”
“We are more than happy with the commitment from Softec International, they understand the nature of our business and our commitment to patient care. National Ambulance is pleased to have a provider working with us to deliver services to patients across the UAE“
Commenting on the implementation, Nour Shawky, CEO of Softec International, said, “As a dynamic and innovative company, we are able to draw upon our agility and knowhow that span over the years. When we started this project, our objective was to quickly adapt to the National Ambulance’s target to implement a system that ensures minimum emergency response times and significantly contributes to live saving and pre-medical care. In doing so we assist the National Ambulance with our role as a technology partner in providing professional ambulatory services at international standards with excellent response times in the UAE. The trust and support of the ambulance team enabled us to reach our objectives quickly. But this does not end there, our ambitions remain high for the years to come.”
The Altair CAD System is one of Softec International’s innovative M2M Smart City solutions. Based on information coming from the call taker who goes through a medical questionnaire, the system runs incident details through an emergency medical triage program with a selection engine which dispatches the vehicle that is most suitable for the incident, putting into consideration estimated arrival times and the level of criticality. This minimizes human interaction in the selection process and ensures a quick and efficient reaction to incidents with optimized response times. Dispatching orders are directly routed to drivers and paramedics via on-board vehicle tablets that are also used to track the missions and navigate drivers to incident locations. Fleet management and performance monitoring modules give decision makers real-time overview on response times, quality of service, and incident statistics, and the ability to control and organize assets, and schedule patient transfer services.
Police stations in the Northern Emirates have direct access to the system and can use it to declare incidents. Requests for ambulances are immediately routed to the ambulance command & control room.
Altair systems are a set of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions developed by Softec International and are widely implemented in MEA and parts of Southeast Asia. The company is based in the UK and the UAE, the R&D team is based in Egypt.
